Moby Dick Productions Selects Exocortex Technologies for Visual Effects

Moby Dick Productions has awarded Exocortex Technologies a contract to provide advanced fluid effects for the
$25 million made-for-TV mini series Moby Dick.  The cast includes William Hurt, Ethan Hawke, Gillian Anderson, Charlie Cox and Donald Sutherland.

Exocortex plans to build upon SlipstreamFX™, its existing state-of-the-art tetrahedral-based fluid simulator.  "Moby Dick is pushing the boundaries in terms of the realism and the desired CG water shot throughput" says Ben Houston CTO at Exocortex Technologies. “This project arrived at the right time in our development cycle.  The requirements call for new advanced techniques that we have researched during the last year and we are now ready to implement.”

Microsoft announces Windows 7 Touch Pack that employes technology from Exocortex

Local Ottawa company Fuel Industries created three touch enabled causal games for Microsoft's Windows 7 Touch Pack.  One of the games features a real-time 2D fluid simulator, technology developed by Exocortex. More details here...
